As promised…here are more pictures from The Color Run in Las Vegas. It was an epic day, and I can’t wait to do it again!
The race started at about 9am. If you’re looking for a serious 5k where you can try to PR, this is not it. There were lots of families, and strollers, and I’d say that 50% of people walked the race. I did a combination of running and walking, and really just did my best to have a good time. Once you get to the end of the race, they do these color celebrations every 15 minutes. They count down, and every one gets a chance to throw the packet of color you get at registration. You could also buy additional color if you wanted.
Let’s talk about the color for a moment. It’s in power form, and it really gets in everything! I was blowing my nose later that day, and my Kleenex came back purple and pink! They suggest you wear glasses, and I saw some people with scarfs around their mouths. When the race was over, and we were heading back to our car, there were people with leaf blowers, blowing off any excess color you had sticking to you!
I bought a white t-shirt specifically for the event, and it got covered! The color didn’t come out of that when I tried to wash it, but it did come out of my pants, and my shoes. My shirt was the thing that got covered the most, and I only paid $3 for it, so I was okay with that…
Overall it was a super fun event. Great for really anyone. There were lots of kids and adults, and actually lots of groups running and walking together.
If The Color Run is coming to your city, I would definitely suggest you sign up!
Just wanted to congratulate you on completing The Color Run! So awesome and such an accomplishment! I'm totally jealous as I wanted to the one in Atlanta, but unfortunately it sold out before I was able to register. Next year though. :) Again, congrats and keep going!!!
Thanks so much for the encouraging words! I got lucky and registered before the Las Vegas event sold out. It was such a fun and uplifting event. You’re gonna love it next year!
